In honor of Juneteenth, U.S. stock markets took a breather on Wednesday, June 19. However, the day before, the markets were anything but idle. The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 tiptoed into record territory on what was otherwise a rather languid Tuesday for traders. The Dow Jones inched up by 57 points, or 0.2%. The S&P 500 nudged up by 0.3%, and the Nasdaq edged up by less than 0.1%. Notably, the Nasdaq nailed its seventh consecutive record close, while the S&P 500 achieved a record close for the sixth time in seven sessions.
